Vaison-la-Romaine sortie visiter vaucluse village

15 min from Villa Sainte Anne

Vaison-la-Romaine is a beautiful little Provencal town with over 2000 years of history. Just a short drive from our guesthouse, you’ll find a wide range of activities. You can start your day by visiting the Roman ruins with a stop at Place Montfort. Then lose yourself in the narrow streets of the medieval old town via the Roman bridge. You can then finish the day with a leisurely stroll along the river.

Vaison-la-Romaine is the ideal place to visit if you love archaeology and history, as it’s one of the most important archaeological sites in the Vaucluse, located just behind the tourist office.

But Vaison-la-Romaine will also charm you with its pretty streets and shops.

If you’re lucky, you can visit the colorful market that takes place every Tuesday morning in the center of Vaison-la-Romaine. The tradition of the Vaison-la-Romaine Tuesday market began in the 16th century, and today it remains a not-to-be-missed event with over 400 stallholders during the summer season.
